ANNUAL PILGRAMIGE
MY YEARS OF JUGGLING
I first began juggling in my middle teenage years.  It all began one sunny afternoon when I was working on my golf swing.  I can't recall how long I had been at it, chipping and retrieving the plastic practice balls, but I know it had gotten old and tired.  Looking down at the grass, and the half dozen balls I had recently deposited there, I knew I lacked the will to continue swinging the club.  But all that prior iron swinging also included a good deal of handling and tossing of those little hole ridden orbs.  And suddenly I acquired the belief that I could keep three of the wee white globes in constant motion.  Soon I had achieved six throws and thus took my first step on what would be one of my longest associations.  Since that day, I don't think I've had three occasions to put my short game to use, but my juggling is now as an extended love affair.  Occasionally intense and passionate, too often neglected, it remains ever present.
